The beaches of the Serra de Tramuntana are mostly rocky, with cool, crystal-clear waters that are ideal for diving. These include Cala Deià, Port de Valldemossa and Llucalcari. If you prefer sand, Port de Sóller and Cala Tuent are sandy beaches surrounded by mountains. In Sóller and Port de Sóller there are supermarkets, restaurants and shops; in short, everything you need for a pleasant stay. Fornalutx has a small grocery store. Near Sóller is the Cova de Muleta, an archaeological site where the oldest human remains in Mallorca were found.
